The Role

The successful candidate will be a key member of the London Team and will help develop the GNC architecture for one of our missions.

Role Responsibilities
  • Be the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Architect for the mission
  • Define the GNC architecture for the mission;
  • Define and manage the GNC Subsystem Requirements;
  • Define the GNC simulator and the test specifications
  • Manage the GNC engineering team of the mission
  • Define risks and risk mitigation strategies for the GNC subsystem
  • Contribute to the optimisation of the overall system by capturing the needs of other subsystems and proposing the adequate GNC-level solutions for the other disciplines
  • Interface with the program management and technical team especially the System Architect and Robotic System Architect
Must Have
  • 10+ years of experience in AOCS or GNC design
  • Experience of GNC algorithm design e.g. navigation filters, guidance strategies and/or controllers.
  • Experience designing fault-tolerant GNC systems e.g. fault-tolerant algorithm / software design.
  • Knowledge and experience of GNC rendezvous and pose estimation sensors and methods.
  • Experience of satellite trajectory design and analysis e.g. walking safety ellipses, passively safe trajectories, abort manoeuvres and collision avoidance manoeuvres.
  • Experience of GNC hardware integration and test.
  • Experience with software packages commonly used for aerospace simulations e.g. MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
  • Experience of programming in C/C++.
Nice to have
  • (BSc/MSc) Degree in aerospace engineering or another relevant engineering/science discipline
  • Additional languages
  • Strong analytical skills
