  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience working on critical infrastructure projects related to process improvements.
  • 5 years of experience in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing using RTDS, OPAL-RT, or similar platforms.
  • 5 years of experience in protection and control engineering.
  • Experience with mission critical systems (24x7 and no-fail) and operations (e.g., power generation, data center, refinery, chip fabrication, chemical plant processing, etc.).
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience writing control code and control system programming.
  • Experience using electrical transient analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, and PSCAD.
  • Knowledge of IT server and network system supporting data center services.
  • Ability to perform closed loop testing on protection and control systems.

As a Power Protection and Controls Engineer at Google, you will not just maintain systems—you will be the guardian of the infrastructure that powers the world’s information. You will be at the intersection of traditional power engineering and the future of carbon-free energy, and will apply your technical expertise to solve complex power quality issues and investigate innovative methods to protect renewable energy and carbon-free storage technologies.
