Surface & Highway Structures B2 Engineer
Location: London - Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite)
Rate: £424.34 per day
Contract: Contract
IR35: Inside IR35
We are currently recruiting for a Surface & Highway Structures B2 Engineer to provide specialist engineering support across a range of capital schemes, third-party works and asset operations within a major transport organisation.
The Role:
- Provide technical assurance and engineering advice across a range of structures projects and operational activities.
- Support the planning, design, construction, inspection, maintenance and assessment of highway and/or marine structures.
- Produce and review technical information, designs, drawings and calculations.
- Provide professional engineering advice and challenge to internal stakeholders.
- Undertake site-based risk monitoring and surveillance where required.
- Apply relevant engineering standards, legislation and industry best practice.
- Support the delivery of safe, efficient and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation and whole-life asset management.
Structures may include:
- Bridges
- Culverts
- Retaining walls
- Gantries
- Other highway and marine structures
About You:
- HND or preferably a Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Graduate-level Civil Engineer with relevant practical experience.
- Previous exposure to highway structures through inspection, design, construction or asset management.
- Experience may have been gained within a consultancy, contractor or client organisation.
- Awareness of relevant technical standards, legislation, health & safety and environmental requirements.
- Able to apply professional engineering judgement to low-risk/low-complexity technical challenges.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ideally a Technician or Graduate Member working towards ICE Membership or equivalent professional institution.
