Job Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of development control and environmental functions within the Environment service.
  • Assess and manage development-related matters in line with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Provide professional technical advice on development control and environmental issues.
  • Work with internal teams, external organisations and other stakeholders to support effective service delivery.
  • Prepare clear reports, recommendations and technical information as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development control and environmental services.
Person Specification Must-Have Requirements
  • Relevant professional or technical experience in development control, planning, engineering, facilities or an environmental discipline.
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess information, identify issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and external organisations.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a local authority or public-sector environment.
  • Relevant professional qualification or membership of a recognised professional body.
  • Experience of working on development control or environmental matters within a local government setting.
  • Knowledge of the London planning and development environment
