We are working with an established specialist in critical power, standby power and energy efficiency, with over 40 years' experience delivering generators, UPS, switch gear and CHP systems across the UK.

They are looking for an experienced CHP Maintenance Engineer to join their technical team.

This is a field-based role involving the servicing, maintenance and repair of CHP systems from 30kW to 500kW, with a mixture of planned maintenance and reactive breakdown work.

The role would suit an engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical background, particularly someone who has worked with CHP, gas engines, generators, building services or associated power-generation equipment.

• You will travel throughout the UK in a company vehicle, primarily carrying out scheduled servicing and reactive breakdown work on CHP systems.
• You will work independently on customer sites while being supported by the wider technical and Service teams.
• The role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays, so a flexible approach to working patterns is essential.

• Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance on CHP systems.
• Attend reactive breakdowns and act as a first responder to customer faults.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and control-system faults.
• Complete detailed site reports, highlighting required remedial actions and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain regular communication with the Service team.
• Provide technical support to colleagues and customers.
• Build strong customer relationships.
• Carry out risk assessments and work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
• Protect company commercial and warranty interests.
• Support customer and internal training where required.
• Act as a strong technical representative and brand ambassador for the business.

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a CHP Service Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong practical knowledge of LTHW hot water systems.
• Experience with pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, delta T and boiler operation.
• Knowledge of associated BMS controls.
• Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Practical knowledge of high-level control systems such as Com Ap.
• Experience with systems such as Web Supervisor, Inteli Monitor, Lite Edit, TEM and TPEM.
• Ability to work with specialist equipment including flue gas analysers and digital water flow / temperature profiling equipment.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Comfortable with high mileage driving and working away from home.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

• MWM training
• Gas Safe qualification
• Building services experience, particularly boilers, HVAC or BMS
• Knowledge of BMS protocols including Modbus, Profibus or BACnet
• CSCS card
• IT / broadband network knowledge
• Own electrical and mechanical tool kit
