Hyperscale Data Centre Portfolio Our client is a leading data centre developer with an expanding portfolio of hyperscale and colocation facilities across Europe. They are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join their central platform team, providing technical leadership and commissioning oversight across multiple projects and live operational assets. The role will take responsibility for commissioning strategy, standards, governance and delivery, working closely with design, construction, project management, contractors, vendors and site operations teams.

This is a London-based position, offering hybrid working and occasional international travel. Responsibilities
· Lead commissioning strategy, standards and governance across projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards and contractual requirements.
· Manage integrated commissioning programmes from design review through to testing, handover and operational acceptance.
· Provide commissioning input during tender, pre-construction and design stages, ensuring systems are fully commissionable and aligned with operational requirements.
· Oversee commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical and building services systems, including FAT, SAT and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
· Manage and coordinate commissioning contractors, vendors and Commissioning Authority (CxA), ensuring compliance with programme, quality and documentation requirements.
· Oversee commissioning documentation, including L1–L5 test scripts, L6 checklists, test records and commissioning dossiers.
· Lead and witness testing activities, manage defects and ensure all outstanding issues are closed out in line with acceptance criteria.
· Work closely with Construction, Project Management and Project Controls teams to manage programme milestones, resources, risks and interfaces.
· Coordinate with Site Operations teams to ensure operational readiness, including training, O&M documentation and handover.
· Provide technical guidance on system performance, resilience, availability and fault tolerance across developing and live assets.
· Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and lessons learned across the commissioning function. Requirements
· Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
· Significant commissioning experience within the data centre sector, ideally across colocation and hyperscale facilities.
· Strong technical background in mechanical or electrical building services and systems commissioning.
· Thorough understanding of the construction process, from pre-construction and design through to commissioning and handover.
· Knowledge of international design codes and standards, particularly ASHRAE.
· Experience managing commissioning programmes, contractors, vendors and specialist commissioning consultants.
· Strong understanding of FAT, SAT, IST, commissioning documentation and operational readiness.
· Knowledge of building management systems and controls.
· Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
· Experience working within a matrix organisation would be advantageous.
· Professional membership of an appropriate engineering institution would be highly desirable.
· Full driving licence and willingness to undertake occasional international travel. Package £105k - £110k basic salary / bonus up to 25% / hybrid working / London-based role / occasional international travel. Major Data Centre Developer
