Skills:

Aerospace, Design, Landing Gear, 3D CAD, hydraulic, electrical, control, instrumentation, data-acquisition, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering. Experience using 3D computer-aided design and producing accurate engineering drawings, with an understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing. Ability to validate designs using engineering calculations and finite element analysis. Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, control, instrumentation and data-acquisition systems and how they interact with mechanical systems. Practical knowledge of machine safety, ergonomics and manufacturability.

Strong technical communication and collaboration skills, including contributing to or leading design reviews. Experience coordinating suppliers, engineering work packages or manufacturing activities while balancing cost, quality and schedule. Practical experience supporting the manufacture, assembly or commissioning of engineering equipment.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Research, Design and Development Department as a Senior Test Design Engineer at our Gloucester site. As a Senior Test Design Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of test rig systems used to conduct development and qualification testing of aircraft landing gear. You will translate customer and test requirements into safe, practical and cost-effective engineering solutions, bringing together mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, control and data-acquisition systems.

Working closely with Test Engineers and Technicians, alongside Design and Analysis teams, you will take test solutions from initial concept and detailed design through manufacture, assembly and delivery, supporting them throughout the test programme lifecycle. The role provides an opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges while improving the way test solutions are designed and delivered. • Leading the design of test solutions for aircraft landing gear components, assemblies and systems.
• Developing concepts and detailed designs to support product development, verification, qualification and in-service activities.
