Purpose of the Role:
Provide UK VAT reporting and compliance support to the business and wider tax team
Job Description:- Supporting the Head of Indirect Tax and wider Group Tax team in the delivery of group and UK VAT reporting to HMRC, stakeholders and Senior Management
- Managing the UK group VAT return process - collation, review and submission of the return utilising Alpha
VAT and Alteryx software - Managing payments and processing of ECNs with HMRC
- Managing the compliance required for group acquisition and disposals and maintenance of the VAT grouping records
- Assisting with the integration of newly acquired UK entities in an acquisitive group (e.g. systems and reporting integrations.)
- Adherence to Making Tax Digital for VAT regulations, including working with Finance teams on system VAT logic and design of reports
- Maintenance and development of the implemented Alteryx solution for VAT reporting
- Supporting projects and entity reviews undertaken by Head of Indirect Tax and third-party advisors, including modelling input tax recovery methodologies and VAT savings opportunities
- Supporting the Head of Indirect Tax in ensuring the Ardonagh PESM is up to date
- Develop and implement VAT training for segment finance teams and Ardonagh group teams
- Maintaining and updating SAO documentation, ownership of indirect tax process documentation across the group and of the SAO workstream relating to indirect tax
- Supporting the Head of Indirect Tax to manage UK VAT risk
- Supporting the Head of Indirect Tax on ad hoc projects requiring VAT input
Experience:
- UK Tax and / or Accountancy qualifications (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience and proficiency with tax compliance and reporting systems, preferably Alpha
VAT, Alteryx, D365 and CCH Tagetik - Excellent knowledge of Excel and related modelling experience
