Department: Corporate Tax

Location: City, London

Compensation: £67,000 - £75,000 / year

Key Responsibilities
  • The role of a manager in our team offers excellent opportunities to work on a broad range of tax advisory projects and clients to develop the right candidate’s overall tax advisory skills.
  • Spend around 80% of working time working closely with the partners and more junior members of the team to deliver tax advice to the firm’s clients.

  • Gain exposure to working with partners on pitching for new clients, both remotely and in person.
  • Work with a client base largely consisting of OMBs and large corporates; advisory projects may include:
  • Structuring corporate transactions (e.g., s.110 reconstructions, statutory demergers, company share repurchases) and advising on relevant reliefs; coordinating with appointed legal practices to preserve tax outcomes.
  • Develop working knowledge of taxes (corporation tax, income tax, capital gains tax, VAT, stamp duty/SDLT) for comprehensive advisory support.
  • Prepare tax valuations and clearance letters for HMRC submissions when required.
  • Manage full-scope tax due diligence projects, coordinating with the wider tax team to deliver reports covering corporation tax, PAYE, VAT, and other relevant taxes.
  • Advise on employee share incentives (e.g., EMI schemes) and prepare HMRC valuation reports.
  • Advise on qualifying conditions for tax reliefs (e.g., EIS/SEIS) and make advance assurance submissions for clients.
  • Produce written tax analyses and apply them to client facts; review work of junior team members for accuracy before delivery to the partner.
  • Assist with compliance work when required, including reviewing complex corporation tax returns for groups or larger clients and supporting audit-related tax queries.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Ideal candidates should be client-focused with solid knowledge of income tax self-assessment, PAYE, and Corporation Tax compliance procedures; should supervise junior team members.
