ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a technically strong and analytically driven FP&A Analyst to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly proficient in SQL, comfortable working with large datasets and able to translate complex data into clear commercial insight.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and maturing our Financial Planning & Analysis capability. You’ll own and enhance key financial models, build robust data pipelines and provide high-quality analysis that supports forecasting, decision-making and performance management across the organisation.

A core part of this role is ensuring data accuracy and consistency across multiple systems, using SQL to interrogate and validate data at source; and building automated processes to improve the speed and reliability of reporting. You will work closely with senior leaders, acting as a trusted analytical partner who brings clarity, challenge and actionable insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Financial and Strategic Planning & Forecasting
    • Support in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts, budgets and rolling projections.
    • Maintain and support models to project financial performance, analyse variances, and identify risks and opportunities with a clear view on mitigation.
    • Key models include booked and collected income models, loan book performance models and cohort analysis to inform strategic decisions.
    • Support the business by providing leaders with forward-looking projections helping to understand the outcomes of their decisions.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting
    • Support in preparing management accounts and assist the Financial Control team with monthly and quarterly reporting packs.
    • Analyse operational and financial KPIs, trends and results to provide actionable insights and recommendations to business decision-makers.
    • Support departmental cost reporting and variance analysis to enable real-time cost control and budgeting decisions.
    • Assist with ALCO packs, trading performance updates and management reporting for the FP&A Manager and C-suite.
    • Monitor unit economics, portfolio yield and loan book performance to support portfolio rebalancing and strategic decision-making.
  • Business Partnering
    • Support in providing SLT and key stakeholders with financial insight and guidance, including on costs, funding, initiatives and performance drivers.
    • Act as a modelling and analytical resource for business initiatives, digging into drivers of changes and providing insight on loan book performance, costs and funding.
    • Challenge assumptions, highlight risks and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Process & Data Management
    • Support automation and streamlining of FP&A reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Maintain consistency of financial data across multiple systems, including CRM, banking platforms and ERP.
    • Assist in building and maintaining SQL queries and data pipelines to support financial analysis.

ABOUT YOU
  • Proactive engagement and clear communication with stakeholders across the business including the Executive Committee and Board.
  • A motivated and self-sufficient approach with strong curiosity and a focus on identifying root-cause issues.
  • Strong financial modelling and scenario analysis capability.
  • High commercial awareness with a solid understanding of key performance drivers.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions, simplifying complex issues and supporting data-driven decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Working SQL knowledge is essential, with ability to navigate and perform ad-hoc SQL queries.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience of modelling financials.
  • Experience with in credit cards is highly desirable.
  • Financial services or banking experience is preferred.
