Risk Management is the Bank's second line of defence, responsible for independent identification, reporting and mitigation of risks. The Principal Risk Officer provides analytical support and recommendations to management in the Country and FI Credit Risk team, feeding into final recommendations to committees and approval processes for Banking transactions under Delegated Authority and Treasury processes.
The ABS Risk and Treasury Counter party Risk teams primarily support Treasury operations, accounting for ca. 50% of EBRD's balance sheet. Activities are largely low risk and support liquidity management and FX & interest rate risk management. The core Treasury counter party base is mainly developed market Banks and NBFIs in High Grade countries, with a growing portion relating to higher-risk counter parties in Countries of Operations.
The team covers a broad range of financial markets and traded products including interest rate swaps, foreign exchange and credit/bond instruments, with significant usage of complex, longer-dated traded products.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
The Principal Risk Officer will work under supervision of an Associate Director and/or Director, with supervision level depending on experience and task complexity. The role requires sound judgement and the ability to work unsupervised, exercising decision-making under delegated powers where appropriate.
