Your Team:
Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across several locations but operate as one team, working together to create a positive, productive, and highly efficient finance department within News UK.

Your Role:
As a key partner to our Broadcasting division, you will provide critical financial and commercial support to our Commercial, Marketing, Editorial, Tech, and Digital departments. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will drive informed decision‑making, challenge business performance to ensure growth, and develop robust business cases for exciting new products and investments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide financial and commercial guidance to the Finance Director and Broadcasting management to improve decision‑making processes.
  • Influence and challenge stakeholders across the division to ensure efficient revenue and profit growth.
  • Lead the budget, five‑year plan, and forecasting processes for all revenues across our National and ROI stations.
  • Create stretching yet achievable revenue targets in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare insightful presentations and narratives for budget and forecast reviews.
  • Maintain a rolling forecast to provide a continuous overview of year‑to‑date revenue performance.
  • Own the preparation of weekly audio results and monthly reporting packs, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Perform deep‑dive analyses into key revenue indicators to identify trends and scenario‑model business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Peterborough finance team to ensure reporting accuracy and process consistency.
Qualifications
  • Hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 2 to 5 years of post‑qualification experience (PQE).
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem‑solving and a strong desire to deliver high‑quality results.
  • Apply your commercial awareness and technical accounting skills to manage complex revenue recognition and financial controls.
  • Utilize advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, ideally alongside experience with TM1, to build efficient reporting frameworks.
  • Communicate complex financial data clearly and confidently to stakeholders at all levels, including those in non‑finance departments.
  • Manage your own workload independently while maintaining high attention to detail and tenacity.
  • Show a genuine passion for the media and broadcasting industry, helping to drive process efficiencies across the role.

If you think you have what it takes but don't tick every requirement on the list, please do apply. We recognise that considering someone's potential as well as their experience is a great way to hire. We want to hear from people who have a passion to learn and develop.
