What you’ll do:- Lead the month‑end close process across five entities by preparing journal entries, performing data‑intensive calculations, and reconciling project‑related financial data to ensure accurate reporting.
- Support the delivery of core financial processes such as accounts payable, financial close activities, and management reporting throughout the business to maintain robust financial operations.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), delivering detailed variance reports that inform strategic business decisions.
- Take ownership of the monthly balance sheet review process by ensuring all accounts are fully reconciled, risk‑assessed, and supported by comprehensive documentation.
- Manage cash‑flow forecasting and review responsibilities while providing insights into working capital requirements and monitoring supplier payment cycles as well as aged creditors.
- Prepare internal cost studies, project evaluations, and periodic reports for both internal stakeholders and external partners to support informed decision‑making.
- Ensure timely, auditable, and well‑documented records of all financial activities including fixed asset maintenance, work‑in‑progress segmentation, and project lifecycle tracking. Collaborate closely with operations, commercial, and project delivery teams to provide ad‑hoc financial analysis that supports cross‑functional objectives. Lead or participate in finance transformation initiatives by identifying areas for automation or digital optimisation to enhance accuracy and efficiency within the finance function.
- Provide guidance or mentoring to junior finance staff by supporting talent development within the team and contributing to succession planning.
- ACA/CA/ACCA or overseas equivalent accounting qualification is essential.
- A minimum of five years’ post‑qualified audit experience gained within a Big 4 or top‑tier accounting firm.
- Proven track record managing the full lifecycle of project financials.
- Hands‑on experience maintaining project budgets aligned with funding parameters, scope requirements, and timeline constraints.
- Demonstrated ability acting as the primary finance contact for external suppliers and contractors regarding invoicing processes, cost validation procedures, and milestone payments showcases your interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) ensures compliance across all reporting activities within a multi‑entity environment.
- Knowledge of consolidation principles along with experience operating in multilocation and multicurrency settings.
- Experience supporting tax‑related processes such as VAT submissions, PAYE administration, and year‑end corporation tax filings adds value to your profile.
- Familiarity with finance transformation initiatives—particularly those involving automation or digital optimisation—demonstrates your commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to mentor junior staff members by sharing knowledge generously contributes positively to team development.
