Overview

ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT – PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

LOCATION:

LONDON – 3 DAYS IN OFFICE, 2 FROM HOME – PERMANENT

A growing professional services business with a real focus on finance development. A broad role at the heart of the finance team, owning a significant portion of the month-end close, management accounts and reporting that helps the business make informed decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Support the month-end close, including expense allocation, intercompany recharges and revenue reporting
  • Prepare and produce accurate monthly management accounts and reporting packs to deadline
  • Perform and review account reconciliations and journals to the balance sheet and P&L
  • Support the annual statutory audit, gathering documentation and answering queries
  • Support annual budgeting and periodic reforecasts
  • Present financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues (a key part of the role)
  • Process general accounting entries (AP, AR, bank reconciliations and daily banking)
  • Update the weekly cash flow, working capital and trends
  • Reconcile revenue weekly between the CRM and the accounting system
  • Maintain the general ledger, keeping it accurate and complete
  • Complete ad-hoc finance projects and analysis as required
  • Work closely with the finance team to keep priorities and reporting on track
Qualifications and Experience
  • Early-stage student or part-qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA), with some exam passes
  • Effective communicator – written and verbal
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel (pivots, lookups, SUMIFS)
  • Experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations and journals
  • Comfortable working across finance and with non-finance colleagues
  • Exposure to Xero or Workday Adaptive Planning is a bonus, not essential
  • Eligibility to work in London
  • Full study support towards ACCA or CIMA
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Clear progression towards a fully qualified professional
