Position: Trainee Broker - Single Stock Options

Role Overview

This is an exciting entry‑level opportunity to begin a career in front‑office financial markets within TP ICAP’s Equities & Equity Derivatives business. As a Trainee Broker on the Single Stock Options (SSO) desk, you will receive structured on‑the‑job training and gain exposure to dynamic global equity derivatives markets, working closely with experienced brokers and institutional clients. The role is ideally suited to a bright, motivated, and commercially curious individual who thrives in fast‑moving environments, can think quickly, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a high‑performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day operational and commercial support to brokers to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the desk.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the credit products traded within Euro Financials, including market conventions and trade lifecycle.
  • Monitor market movements, news flow, and macro‑economic developments relevant to European financial issuers.
  • Deliver live market quotes to traders and clients via messaging systems and trading platforms.
  • Assist in identifying potential trade opportunities and relative value strategies.
  • Accurately capture, calculate, and relay trade details and market information to brokers and clients on a daily basis.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for TP ICAP Group, promoting its values and reputation with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience & Competencies
  • Foundational understanding of financial markets, with exposure to equities or derivatives preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in equity markets, trading strategies, and market‑driven environments.
  • Numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate market data effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with precision under pressure.
  • Ability to perform in a fast‑paced, commercially driven trading environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and intellectual curiosity.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to responsible market conduct.
  • Desired basic understanding of options theory (e.g. Black‑Scholes, implied volatility, Greeks).
  • Familiarity with financial market data platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, Refinitiv) or trading systems.
  • Additional European or global language skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
  • Interest in corporate events, earnings cycles, and equity‑specific catalysts.
  • High energy, resilience, and strong motivation to build a career in front‑office broking.
