Background

The London Regulatory Reporting and Data Management team sits within Finance and owns Financial Regulatory Reporting for CIBC’s European businesses as well as supporting the two major systems that facilitate these activities – the London Data Warehouse (LDW) and the General Ledger (GL). This role includes oversight of the LDW and Central Customer Database, which provide key information feeds for the team, and preparation of regulatory reports or completion of limit monitoring activities for CIBC’s European businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Central Customer Database (CCDB) as a reliable information source for regulatory reporting.
  • Review and action LDW daily error log reports and GL exception reports, ensuring resolution for downstream users.
  • Monitor general ledger processes on behalf of the UK finance team and administer the GL set‑up and closure process for European organisational units.
  • Highlight operational issues related to LDW and GL, investigate as required, and liaise with appropriate parties to resolve them.
  • Undertake user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation for LDW and GL projects as required.
  • Develop knowledge of the LDW database, mapping, and query functionality, and understand LDW tables to identify operational inefficiencies or process improvements.
  • Prepare allocated regulatory financial reporting for CIBC’s European entities.
  • Assist with SLA support for Luxembourg and ensure deliverables meet target levels set.
  • Support record retention to ensure requirements are met.
  • Explore automation of reporting through tools such as Alteryx to increase capacity.
  • Assist with other finance ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Near‑qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent candidate.
  • Prior experience with regulatory returns – Bank of England statistical reporting preferred.
  • Experience with Alteryx preferred.
  • Good IT skills, especially Excel.
  • Appetite to learn, develop, and grow the role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside the finance team.
  • Working knowledge of investment banking products, data fields, and systems.
  • Clear, methodical approach with attention to detail and ability to prepare concise, accurate documentation and work‑papers.
  • Proactive mindset to find and develop solutions and awareness of data integrity issues and downstream impacts.
  • Ability to self‑manage, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
