Role of a Risk Analyst

As a member of the Global Risk Management team, you will strengthen and enhance GLAS’s overall control environment. The role requires a well‑rounded understanding of risk management principles and control best practices across both the first and second lines of defence. Working in a highly visible function, you will contribute directly to governance, risk oversight and strategic decision‑making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the collation of Key Risk Indicators and risk meeting data points.
  • Produce minutes for regional risk meetings.
  • Review and follow‑up on incidents to ensure issues are logged accurately, control gaps are identified and corrective actions remediate the problem.
  • Assist in preparing risk presentations and case studies of incidents.
  • Support global risk initiatives, thematic risk reviews and other remediation/assurance work that delivers concrete risk reduction/mitigation.
  • Participate in ongoing enhancements to existing risk systems and contribute to the build‑out of the future RCSA tool.
  • Develop an understanding of the roles, processes and key operational risks across GLAS teams worldwide, including regional nuances.
  • Promote a strong risk and control culture, contribute to risk awareness training and share best practices.
  • Proactively identify, assess and mitigate operational risk.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and audit information requests.
  • Embed a strong governance culture within the teams.
Key Skills and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Over 2 years of experience in risk management within financial markets.
  • Entrepreneurial business focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time‑management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of processes and controls to mitigate risks of errors.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive in understanding operational processes, controls and risks in alignment with GLAS values, policies and procedures.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, with a can‑do attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Capability to identify issues and appropriately escalade.
  • Strategic thinker, planner with a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable supporting cross‑functional, complex work streams.
  • Excellent planning and scheduling skills to improve workflows and controls.
  • Strong observation and problem‑solving skills.
