Financial Reporting, Financial Manager, Financial Compliance
This is a newly created Finance Manager role for a pre-opening hospitality and entertainment venue combining several Hospitality and Leisure operations under one roof. The role is focused on accounting oversight, business partnering and commercial rigor rather than day-to-day bookkeeping.
The Finance Manager owns the accuracy of all financial information, manages the outsourced provider relationship, and builds the finance function from scratch through pre-opening and beyond — establishing the processes, controls and reporting the business will run on. It's a hands‑on, visible role suited to someone with genuine commercial curiosity who wants to understand what drives performance across multiple revenue streams, with direct exposure to senior leadership and Corporate Finance.
Please note that this is a 3-months contract to support with the opening, though there are opportunities for the role to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities- Own the accuracy, integrity and completeness of all financial information; oversee monthly/quarterly/annual close, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting prepared by the outsourced provider
- Business partner with the General Manager and department heads, providing financial insight that drives day-to-day and strategic decisions
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, variance analysis and KPI reporting across all revenue streams
- Maintain a visible presence across the operation, monitoring revenue, margins, labour, purchasing and cash management
- Manage the outsourced accounting provider relationship — AP, AR, payroll coordination, banking and statutory compliance — reviewing all outputs for quality before they reach leadership
- Build and continuously improve financial controls, processes and reporting frameworks, including through the pre-opening phase
- Act as finance liaison to Corporate Finance on reporting, policy and systems, and sit as an active member of the leadership team
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- 3-5 years' progressive finance/management accounting experience, with increasing responsibility for reporting and business partnering
- ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified
- Strong management accounting background with proven ability to produce accurate, timely reporting and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel; comfortable building models, dashboards and reports from scratch
- Advanced proficiency with a cloud-based accounting platform (e.g. Xero) as a primary system
- Experience with banking/payment platforms, supplier payments and cash management
- High integrity and attention to detail — trusted as the financial conscience of the operation
- Strong communicator, able to translate finance for non-finance colleagues and challenge constructively
- Hospitality industry background (hotels, restaurants, lifestyle or entertainment venues) is a must
