Location: City of London

Join a growing Lloyd's of London organisation as a Sanctions Analyst and play a key role in ensuring compliance with financial and trade sanctions, export control, and anti-boycott regulations. This newly created position has arisen due to team expansion and offers the opportunity to work within a global Financial Crime and International Trade function. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance in the office 2–3 days per week. Working closely with the Sanctions Manager and Financial Crime team, you will provide expert advice and support on sanctions compliance matters. You will help identify, assess, and manage risk while ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of the sanctions compliance framework.
  • Research and advise on sanctions-related issues, including legal and regulatory developments.
  • Respond to complex queries and provide clear, practical guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Assist with financial crime projects and contribute to wider business initiatives.
  • Act as a point of escalation for sanctions screening alerts.

About You

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who can perform effectively in a dynamic environment.

You will have:

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A basic understanding of UK, EU and US sanctions regulations, or experience within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong client-focused mindset.
  • Experience in trade sanctions, particularly relating to Marine and Aviation sectors.
  • The right to work in the UK.
