How you will make an impact
- Management responsibility of the catastrophe modelling team (4 analysts/senior analysts in London), ensuring timely and accurate provision of Cat. pricing and monthly/quarterly portfolio roll-ups of the Property and Energy classes
- Be the key contact for interactions with the underwriters helping them to understand and use the modelled output appropriately
- Collaborate with the Operations team to oversee the relationship with the Accenture offshore catastrophe modelling team in India, ensuring cat. pricing is timely and accurately delivered in adherence to SLAs
- Responsibility for all catastrophe risk inputs into the internal model, business planning, budgeting, and reinsurance purchase exposure data provision
- Actively contribute to the ongoing assessment of the company’s internal view of catastrophe risk and strategy, engaging with wider AIG corporate catastrophe functions and communicating the impacts of view of risk and model changes
- Collaborate with the cat. regulatory team members to ensure inputs for regulatory returns are provided in a timely and accurate manner. Responsibility for Lloyd’s Catastrophe Model (LCM) and producing the nat. cat. components of the Lloyd’s RDS
- Responsibility for producing exposure reports and loss estimates (if applicable) for live event response
What you'll need to succeed
- 7+ years of catastrophe modelling experience using RMS, with RMS IRP experience desirable
- Experience managing catastrophe risk across multiple lines of business (including Property and Energy) and geographies
- People management experience including technical training and development and setting objectives
- Experience of Cat. budgeting / business planning
- Experience of regulatory returns, specifically the Lloyd’s Catastrophe Model (LCM) and Lloyd’s RDS returns
- Strong SQL skills and/or R/Python advantageous including knowledge of RMS backend tables
- Experience of managing stakeholders across a variety of functions, and a willingness to work on multiple projects with multiple stakeholders, in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
