Credit4 is a fast-growing lender helping UK SMEs access the flexible working capital they need to grow.
Since 2013, we’ve lent tens of millions of pounds using a human-led, relationship-driven approach - there are no algorithms in sight. We are more fin than tech, if you will.
We’re now looking for a bright, commercially minded Credit Analyst to join our office-based team in Monument (City of London).
This is a great opportunity for an outstanding graduate who wants to build a career in commercial finance, credit and lending - learning from an experienced team and getting exposure to real UK businesses from day one.
What You’ll Do:- Sit at the intersection of our Sales and Underwriting teams, helping prepare opportunities before they progress to sales calls and full credit assessment
- Carry out initial pre-screening and eligibility checks on prospective borrowers
- Analyse financial accounts, bank statements and other financial information to understand business performance and affordability
- Combine quantitative analysis with qualitative assessment to build a clear picture of each business
- Identify key trends, risks and areas that need further investigation
- Prepare concise analysis and insights for the Sales team ahead of conversations with prospective borrowers
- Work closely with Sales and Underwriting to help applications move efficiently through the lending process
- Develop your understanding of SME credit, financial analysis and commercial lending from the ground up
- An excellent academic background, ideally with a degree in Accounting & Finance, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Management or another numerate discipline
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, with a genuine interest in understanding how businesses work
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
- An ability to look beyond the headline numbers and ask the right questions
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger commercial picture
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Curious, organised and keen to learn in a fast-moving environment
- Previous financial services experience is welcome, but not essential - aptitude, attitude and analytical ability matter more
- Able to commute to Monument, London - this is a full-time, 5-days-a-week office-based role
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Hands-on training and exposure to experienced lending professionals
- A non-corporate, friendly and supportive team
- Real responsibility and exposure to SME lending from the outset
- Clear opportunity to develop into Credit, Underwriting or other areas of Commercial Finance as you progress
- The opportunity to help shape the future of a growing SME lender
If you’re an ambitious graduate who enjoys working with numbers but also wants to understand the businesses and people behind them, we’d love to hear from you.
