Join M&S as a Finance Manager - Property FP&A, a high-profile role at the heart of our Property Finance team. You'll play a key role in shaping budgets, forecasts and long-term plans while providing insight and challenge to senior stakeholders across Property, Retail and Group Finance. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business, driving performance and influencing strategic decision-making.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the Property budgeting, forecasting and three-year planning processes
    , coordinating across Group FP&A, Business Unit Finance teams and Shared Services to ensure plans are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Provide robust financial insight on costs, working capital and cash flow performance
    , identifying key trends, risks and opportunities while continuously improving forecast accuracy.
  • Business partner senior stakeholders across Property
    , supporting decision-making through clear financial analysis and translating complex data into meaningful actions.
  • Lead the Property Capex cost-out programme
    , partnering with Store Development and Procurement teams to track delivery, challenge performance and drive sustainable efficiencies.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to reduce operating costs through actionable insight, while coaching analysts and building strong relationships across Finance and the wider business.
Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • A qualified accountant with strong FP&A, forecasting or business partnering experience and the ability to translate operational activity into financial impact.
  • Commercially minded, with excellent analytical skills and a track record of identifying risks, opportunities and performance improvement initiatives.
  • An influential communicator who can build credibility with senior stakeholders and confidently challenge where required to drive better outcomes.
  • Experienced in presenting complex financial information to leadership teams in a clear, concise and compelling way.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with strong Excel skills and a willingness to embrace change, improve processes and work collaboratively across functions.
