Location: City Of London

I am currently partnering with one of our longstanding Law Firm clients with the search for an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join its finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee indirect tax compliance obligations across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Review and coordinate the preparation and submission of VAT and related indirect tax returns.
  • Provide practical and commercial VAT advice to stakeholders across the business.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for indirect tax matters, supporting operational and finance teams.
  • Liaise with overseas finance teams and external advisers to ensure accurate and timely compliance.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on the business.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance indirect tax policies, procedures and guidance documentation.
  • Support process improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening controls and increasing efficiency.
  • Partner with finance and systems teams to improve the accuracy of indirect tax treatment within business processes and financial systems.
  • Assist with tax audits, enquiries and other interactions with tax authorities where required.
Key requirements:
  • Strong experience in UK VAT compliance, including preparation, review and oversight of statutory filings.
  • Proven experience providing VAT advisory support within a corporate, professional services or accountancy environment.
  • Good understanding of international VAT and indirect tax principles.
  • Relevant professional qualification such as CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with financial systems and improving tax-related processes would be advantageous.
