CFO PE-Backed Infrastructure business

Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a PE-backed, multi-site infrastructure business in the search for an experienced CFO to work closely alongside the CEO and senior leadership team. This is a high-impact leadership role, offering influence over strategic direction and commercial performance as the business continues to grow.

The CFO will provide senior financial leadership across the group, translating strategic priorities into disciplined financial plans whilst maintaining strong control over forecasting, liquidity, cash management, and financial performance. Acting as a key adviser to the CEO, they will provide insight, challenge, and support across commercial and operational decision-making. The role carries responsibility for board and investor reporting to private equity standards, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders.

The CFO will play a central role in strengthening financial oversight, controls, and reporting across a complex, multi-site operating model.

Operating within a project and contract-led environment, the CFO will ensure robust financial management of long-term contracts, work in progress, and project performance, providing the commercial insight and financial discipline required to support operational delivery and drive sustainable growth. They will work closely with operational leadership teams to improve visibility, optimise working capital, and enhance business performance.

As the business continues to evolve, the CFO will lead enhancements to financial systems, data, and management information, improving visibility and supporting informed decision-making across the business. They will also play a key role in delivering the private equity value creation plan, strengthening governance, and preparing the business for a future exit.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA)
• Experience as a CFO or Finance Director within a PE-backed or investor-backed business operating within engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial, business services, or other operationally intensive environments
• Strong understanding of long‑term contracts, work in progress (WIP), project accounting, and cash flow management
• Demonstrable track record of strengthening financial controls, governance, reporting, and management information
• Strategic and commercially minded, with the credibility to influence at board, investor, and stakeholder level
• Experience supporting business growth, transformation, and value creation within a private equity environment
• A hands‑on, resilient, and adaptable leadership style, comfortable operating within a fast‑paced, multi‑site business
