We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the UK TMT, Healthcare and Education Corporate banking team in the role of Relationship Director.

You’ll work closely with a diverse portfolio of customers, understanding their goals and challenges, and providing the insight, support and solutions needed to help them succeed. You’ll be a trusted adviser and influential partner to a portfolio of customers with annual turnovers ranging from £15m to £350m. You will drive exceptional customer experiences, building long-term relationships with existing clients while identifying and developing new business opportunities.

Managing a portfolio of UK and international clients, you will oversee the full relationship lifecycle, balancing customer growth opportunities with effective risk management. You'll thrive by developing trusted, collaborative relationships across a wide network of internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you’ll:

  • Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network.
  • Be an ambassador for HSBC and develop the bank’s profile in the local business and wider community.
  • Supporting customers and placing their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards.
  • Seeking new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships to identify new business opportunities.
  • Building a network of business introducers in the local professional and business community.
  • Adhere to structures and processes in place for the management of credit, operational, reputation, financial crime and regulatory risk.
  • Collaborate with product partners to assess needs of international and domestic customers and offer appropriate solutions.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience working in a relevant role within Corporate Banking/Financial Services is essential.
  • Strong Corporate coverage experience with a knowledge of the UK TMT, Healthcare and Education markets is essential.
  • Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer’s needs and generating complex lending both monetary and applying appropriate products and solutions to help customers realise their goals.
  • Ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
  • Strong credit skills and cashflow and asset-based lending experience is essential
  • Excellent communication skills - Highly skilled at building and managing complex relationships and an ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Self-driven with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and work collaboratively to deliver to deadlines.

This is a hybrid position with the base location being Queen Victoria Street. This role requires an element of travel for client meetings, mostly around the London region and into Surrey. It is therefore important that the successful candidate can travel and is within an easily commutable distance of this region.

London office relocation:

Between January and April 2027, many office-based HSBC employees in London will move from either 8 Canada Square or Queen Victoria Street to one of our new sites l’s or Canary Wharf.
