Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance
Syntro Partners is working exclusively at this stage with a rapidly growing, acquisitive UK business to recruit a Senior Finance Analyst into its expanding FP&A function.
This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys the analytical side of finance. You'll be working with large volumes of financial and operational data, getting underneath business performance and turning that information into clear, useful insight.
Rather than being a heavily presentation-led business partnering position, this role will sit at the analytical heart of the FP&A team. You'll be expected to understand what the numbers are really saying, challenge assumptions, identify trends and opportunities, and develop high-quality reporting that enables the wider finance team to influence decision making.
The business is growing quickly both organically and through acquisition, creating an interesting and constantly evolving environment for someone who enjoys working with data and improving how businesses understand performance.
The roleReporting to the Head of FP&A, you will:
- Analyse financial and operational performance across a large, multi-site business
- Develop dashboards, KPI reporting and management information using Power BI
- Work with large datasets to identify trends, risks and commercial opportunities
- Get behind headline performance to understand the underlying drivers
- Produce clear, engaging reporting that helps senior stakeholders make better decisions
- Work closely with finance business partners and operational teams
- Partner with the data team to improve reporting quality and accuracy
- Support budgeting and forecasting
- Undertake ad hoc analysis around acquisitions, strategic projects and business improvement initiatives
- Help automate and continually improve reporting processes
We're looking for someone who is naturally analytical and genuinely enjoys getting into the detail.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an FP&A, Finance Analyst, Commercial Finance Analyst or similar role
- Strong hands-on Power BI experience
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
- A strong understanding of financial and operational performance
- The ability to interrogate data and turn it into meaningful commercial insight
- Good communication skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification/finalist status, or equivalent experience
Experience with in a multi-site, consumer or similarly operational business would be useful but isn't essential.
Perhaps most importantly, you'll need to be comfortable joining a fast-moving, entrepreneurial organisation where things aren't always as structured as they might be within a large corporate environment.
Why consider it?The business is performing strongly and continuing to grow through both acquisition and organic expansion. The FP&A team is becoming increasingly important as that growth continues, and this role will have genuine visibility and scope to influence how reporting and analysis develop.
There is also a clear opportunity to develop within a growing finance function.
