Interim Head of Finance for Greater London Authority
- Oxford Street, London
- Working arrangement: 2/3 days in the office per week / Hybrid
- Job Type: 4 - 6 months contract
- Rate: £512.06 per day PAYE or £700 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35)
We are delighted to be working with our client, The Greater London Authority, who are seeking a Head of Finance to support the Finance Director in establishing an efficient and effective financial operation at the Oxford Street Development Corporation (OSDC). This pivotal role involves safeguarding public funds by setting up necessary financial processes and policies, and leading the development of the corporation's revenue and capital budgets.
Day-to-dayof the role:
- Manage and coordinate the accounting and finance advice functions at OSDC.
- Lead on the development of the corporation's revenue and capital budgets; liaising with the OSDC Board, Executive Committee, and GLA's Chief Finance Officer's directorate as necessary.
- Act as Finance Business Partner to OSDC budget holders, regularly reviewing financial performance including budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Ensure effective arrangements are in place to manage and monitor the OSDC capital programme.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate the statutory financial monitoring and reporting of the corporation's activities.
- Ensure an effective system of risk management and internal controls is in place across OSDC.
- Support the CFO in planning and delivering the Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee (FRAC) work programme, including the programme of internal audits.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting within a mix of public and private sector environments
- Strong leadership and delivery skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to oversee the development of long-term financial models and budget preparation.
- Experience in risk management and setting up internal controls.
- Knowledge of relevant financial software and systems.
- Relevant financial qualifications are preferred.
