Senior Actuary

Our client is a specialist firm operating at the intersection of reinsurance and capital markets.

They are looking for a senior P&C reinsurance actuary to take ownership for reserving and financial analysis for one of their specialist business lines in Bermuda. The role would manage one individual.

The ideal candidate will be a Fellow of a major actuarial body (SOA GI track, CAS, UK IFOA, SAI, Australian Institute etc) and have experience of reserving reinsurance P&C portfolios. This is a role where you will both manage as well as deliver through your own work, so we are looking for a hands-on actuary.

Given the limited supply of actuaries in Bermuda, the client is willing to sponsor a work permit for an overseas actuary. The ideal target markets will be actuaries working in a major (re) insurance jurisdiction, such as Canada, Ireland, UK, Switzerland etc.

The role comes with an attractive tax free package (Bermuda does not deduct income tax). The package includes pension (which can be taken as cash by non Bermudans) and a discretionary bonus.
