Head of Capital Raising and Investor Relations

The Opportunity

Academic Capital Partners combines institutional investment discipline with the operator DNA of its founder who built Global Schools, from two classrooms and 48 students in 2002 into one of the world’s largest Asia Pacific focused K-12 education operator with c.45,000 students across 64 plus campuses in 11 countries. We are seeking a highly commercial and deeply networked Head of Capital Raising and Investor Relations to lead the fundraising strategy, LP engagement, and capital formation for this inaugural vehicle.

Role & Responsibilities

• Fundraising Strategy & Execution:
  Design and execute the global capital raising strategy for ACP’s inaugural education fund, targeting US $500M - US $1B in commitments.
• LP Network Development:
  Leverage an established rolodex of sovereign wealth funds (e.g., Mubadala, ADIA, GIC), pension funds (e.g., PSP, CPPIB), endowments, family offices, and fund-of-funds with an appetite for long-duration,infrastructure-like education assets.
• Pitch & Collateral Development:
  Translate GSG's operational edge, SMART Campus IP, and Apollo-backed financial discipline into compelling pitch decks, PPMs, and DDQs.
• Investor Relations:
  Build a best-in-class IR function, managing ongoing LP communications, quarterly reporting, AGM presentations, and co-investment syndication.
• Strategic Advisory:
  Work closely with the ACP Investment Committee to align fund structuring, terms, and deployment pacing with LP market appetite.

Candidate Profile

• Experience:
  
  10-15+ years of experience in capital raising, placement advisory, or investor relations within top-tier Private Equity, Infrastructure, or Real Estate funds.
• Sector Expertise:
  Prior experience raising institutional capital for private equity, infrastructure, real assets, or mid-market buyout funds is preferred. Experience with education-focused investment strategies or raising capital for funds would be advantageous.
• Track Record:
  Demonstrable track record of successfully closing institutional capital for first-time funds or spin-out vehicles.
• Network:
  Established senior-level relationships with UK, European and global LPs actively allocating across Asia-Pacific, the GCC and North America, particularly institutional investors with an appetite for defensive, recurring-revenue assets.
• Commercial Acumen:
  Deep understanding of fund economics, LPA structuring, and the structural advantages of the K-12 education sector (negative working capital, inflation pass-through)
