Actuary, Risk Manager/Analyst, Insurance Analyst
An established specialist insurer is seeking a qualified actuary to join its capital modelling team. This role offers broad exposure across regulatory capital, internal model development, risk management and strategic business planning.
You will take ownership of key elements of the regulatory capital calculation process, producing and reviewing submissions for relevant regulators and market bodies. You will support model validation, governance and change activity, alongside liquidity testing, management capital assessments, rating agency requirements and collateral calculations.
Working across the internal model, you will contribute to methodology, parameterisation, validation and process enhancements. You will use actuarial judgement to challenge assumptions, interpret outputs and communicate meaningful insights to senior stakeholders, committees and regulators.
The position involves close collaboration with actuarial, risk, finance and underwriting teams. You will also help improve modelling processes, controls and reporting while supporting strategic initiatives relating to capital management, reinsurance, risk appetite and portfolio optimisation.
The successful candidate will be a qualified actuary with insurance-sector experience, ideally gained in capital modelling or risk. You will possess strong analytical and technical capabilities, a sound understanding of capital models and advanced modelling and data-analysis skills. Experience with Tyche would be advantageous.
You will be an assured communicator who can explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong commercial awareness, effective workload management and the confidence to present well-supported conclusions and recommendations are also essential.
