Principal Planning Officer

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in London in the search for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Town Planning Development Management team. This will be on an initial 6 month basis with weekly office attendance required. This is an exciting role in a prestigious and well regarded local authority.
 
Main responsibilities of the role will include:

· Supervising a team of senior and planning officers dealing with a wide range of planning applications which could include strategic and major applications.

· Sign off and allocation responsibilities.

· Researching, considering and reporting on the full range of applications and development proposals including major developments, under the Planning Acts and related legislation.

· Preparing appeal statements and/ or witness statements, appearing at public inquiries/ hearings and/or Court and answering enquiries from applicants, their agents and other customers in relation to planning matters, advising other departments as required.

· Preparing for and attending planning committees. Attending resident and other stakeholder meetings when required. Deputising for the team leader in their absence.

· You will NOT be expected to manage your own caseload of major applications.
 
We are looking for very experienced Principal Planners with a self motivated attitude and ability to communicate well with the public and other stakeholders. Our client is looking for someone to start almost immediately, so if you are interested in going forward for the role then please don't hold back. Weekly office presence is required.
 
Carrington West Pay Rate - £50 to £55per/hour (Subject to experience)
