To help drive the transition of the UK economy to a low‑carbon economy built on renewable energy and clean technologies, we require a bright, articulate Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer with strong knowledge of UK power markets. The ideal candidate would have a genuine passion for advancing renewables and expertise in one (or more) of the following: solar, storage, grids and/or decentralised energy.
The successful applicant will collaborate closely with their Head of Power, Director of Policy, government and market participants, as well as existing Policy Officers across other renewable technologies. This exciting role involves regular engagement with civil servants, regulators, parliamentarians, members, and a wide range of industry stakeholders to help shape and influence key policy initiatives affecting the energy transition.
The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, personable and capable of acting as a trusted external ambassador for their work. We offer clear pathways for professional growth, allowing the successful candidate to broaden their expertise and develop leadership skills in high‑value policy areas.
Key Responsibilities- Leading policy and advocacy strategies to advance the heat and biomass sectors.
- Supporting member forums and acting as Secretariat for the Deep Geothermal APPG.
- Engaging with government, regulators, and industry stakeholders to drive sector growth.
- Drafting policy statements, consultation responses, and member communications.
