AboutThe Role
As a Command and Control Operator, you will handle incoming calls from the public, internal staff, and partner agencies, assessing risk, prioritising incidents, and deploying resources accordingly. You will work with a wide range of information systems to ensure accurate logging and effective support for operational policing. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgement under pressure and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Full training will be provided, and ongoing development opportunities are available for those looking to progress in a fast-paced policing.
- Receiving and triaging emergency and non-emergency calls, applying THRIVE+ assessments.
- Recording incidents accurately on Command and Control systems (CAD, Niche etc.)
- Deploying and coordinating resources in line with policy and operational need.
- Communicating clearly and effectively via radio and telephone with officers and staff.
- Supporting critical incidents and safeguarding concerns through accurate information handling and escalation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong keyboard and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems.
