Role Overview
The Information Governance (IG) Officer assists with the IG work programme and ensures compliance with Data Protection and Security Toolkit and national standards, guidance and legislation.
Responsibilities- Assist with the full IG work programme and compliance with statutory obligations.
- Act as the first point of contact for advice and support on IG issues.
- Collaborate with all staff groups to raise IG awareness through coordination and delivery of training.
- Provide specialised advice and training on IG, including FOI, DP, information rights and confidentiality.
- Recommend clear and accessible guidance to all staff to meet statutory and legal obligations.
- Take a solution‑focused approach, encouraging system and service design that complies with Data Protection legislation and ensuring IG is seen as a support rather than an obstacle.
