Cardiac Physiologist – Cath Lab/Echo/Pacing

An excellent opportunity has arisen at London North West for an enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cath Lab/Echo/Pacing team. The post holder role is within Cath Lab/Echo and to also undertake the full range of invasive and non‑invasive procedures carried out within the Cardiac Investigation service at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the skills and confidence of junior team members, including Cardiac Associate Practitioners, Trainee Cardiac Physiologists, and resident doctors undertaking echocardiography training.
  • Contribute actively to teaching, supervision, and day‑to‑day mentorship, helping to shape a supportive and high‑quality learning environment.
  • Work independently across all service areas and take responsibility for the smooth daily operation of whichever clinical area you are assigned to.
  • Ensure high standards of practice, effective workflow, and a safe, patient‑focused service.
  • Support procedures such as angiography, PCI, CTO interventions, IVUS, OCT, FFR, EKOS, Inari, and pacing including complex device implantation.
  • Deliver a comprehensive pacing service, providing device implantation and full follow‑up for single and dual‑chamber pacemakers and complex devices, offered both remotely and face‑to‑face.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A BSc Cardiac Physiology qualification or equivalent is essential.
  • Accreditation in cardiac devices (BHRS, EHRA or IBHRE) is desirable; for the Echo role, BSE accreditation is essential.
  • Experience in implantation and follow‑up of pacemakers and complex devices within Cath Lab is required.
  • Experienced applicants without relevant accreditation may be initially appointed in Band 6 and expected to achieve full accreditation within a set time frame, with progression to Band 7 upon completion.
