Senior Specialist Paediatric Audiological Scientist

Provide specialist audiological care for paediatric cases at the Hearing Implant Centre.

• Work autonomously performing highly specialist audiological assessment and rehabilitative management of children referred for Cochlear Implants (CI), Bone Conduction Implants (BCI), Middle Ear Implants (MEI), and Auditory Brainstem Implants (ABI).
• Collaborate with Audiological Scientists, Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers of the Deaf, Clinical Psychologists and ENT Consultants to devise specific management plans that maximise post‑surgical hearing outcomes.
• Provide specialist counselling to patients and their families.
• Assess, activate and program implants, collect outcome measures, and offer ongoing support to children referred to the centre.
• Use complex speech‑processor programming strategies.
• Engage in continuous professional development and additional training.

• MSc in Audiology or a related subject.
• Completed STP/CAC clinical competency exams or equivalent training from an accredited training centre.
• Registered to practice as a Clinical Scientist (Audiology) with the HCPC or as an Audiologist with the RCCP.
• Experience in implantable device audiology desirable.

This is a fixed‑term secondment for 12 months, available either full‑time or part‑time.
