About Our Organisation

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) is a community‑focused provider of local and acute care, delivering high‑quality services to over one million people across the London boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley. We provide whole‑life care and are here to support our communities to live healthier lives as well as to help them when they need us the most.

Employing almost 7,500 colleagues, affectionately known as Team LGT, we serve patients at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, University Hospital Lewisham, and at over a dozen community sites in Lewisham, with some services at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. Our trust has recently launched a new vision and values to mark the LGT
10 – the tenth anniversary of our Trust’s formation in 2013. We are rated as "good" or "outstanding" in over three‑quarters of the services inspected by the Care Quality Commission.

Diversity, Equality & Inclusion

We actively work to ensure our workforce reflects the local communities we serve. Our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives aim to: 1. Improve representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, those from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, LGBTQ+ and women through recruitment and leadership development.
2. Widen access and employability as an anchor institution.
3. Improve the experience of staff with disability.
4. Raise EDI literacy and confidence among trust staff through training and development.
5. Make equalities mainstream across all activities. We have staff networks for Disability, LGBTQ+, Multicultural Inclusion and Women, and a corporate EDI Team that supports these goals.
