Job Title
Central London Community Healthcare is currently seeking a Band 4 Bank Healthcare Assistant.
LocationEdgware Community Hospital, Edgware HA, 8 0AD.
Contract and Working HoursBank contract – Full‑time, Part‑time, Flexible working.
Salary£16.47 per hour (inclusive of HACS).
Pay SchemeAgenda for change.

Job Responsibilities- Provide a mixture of general and specific care to patients under the guidance of a registered nurse or allied health professional.
- Develop proficiency and competence in the area of practice through competency assessments.
- Promote optimum independence and client‑centred care for a delegated caseload.
- Support the Community Diabetes Team to deliver against key performance indicators and maintain service quality.
- Assist the Consultant, Diabetes Specialist Nurses and Specialist Dietician with clinic activities, including blood test preparation and result review.
- Deliver Desmond Education Training programmes for people with type 2 diabetes and obtain required accreditation.
- Monitor patient blood glucose using new technology, interpret results, and support management decisions.
- Check vital signs and weight, and support clinicians with clinic preparation such as blood test results.
Education / Qualification (Essential)
- Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF – Level 3) or equivalent.
- Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate.
Education / Qualification (Desirable)
- GCSE grade A–C or equivalent in English and Maths.
- ECDL Certificate.
- Registration with the national regulatory body (when available).
- Experience working in a health or social care setting.
Skills & Knowledge (Essential)
- Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures.
- Acceptable numeracy and literacy levels.
- Understanding of multi‑agency services and referral processes.
- Risk management awareness.
- Awareness of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable adults.
Skills & Knowledge (Desirable)
- Knowledge of local health needs strategies.
- Experience with NHS patient information databases such as Rio, CIS.
Key Attributes (Essential)
- Ability to work effectively in a team and supervise the work of others.
- Analytical skills – interpret and record data clearly and succinctly.
