Fire Officer

Role Overview>

The Estates Hard FM Team is responsible for day‑to‑day repairs, PPM and operational testing for a wide range of building services and equipment located in the Trust. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible Fire Officer to act as a focus for all fire, health and safety matters in the organisation, with accountability for fire safety matters reporting up to the Site Director of Estates and Facilities Management (Director with fire safety responsibility).

• Assist the Group Fire Safety in providing and maintaining levels of fire precaution within Trust premises in line with NHS Health Technical Memorandum 05:01 (HTM
  05:01) requirements and maintain good relationships with the Local Fire Brigade.
• Ensure that the Trust complies with all aspects of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) legislation and work closely with relevant parties within the hospital and externally to provide a fire safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Act as the direct contact with the London Fire Brigade (LFB) regarding fire safety matters and information to support operational firefighting.
• Provide support as the site Health and Safety advisor and ensure that the Trust fulfils its obligations under the Health and Safety and Work Act 1974.
