We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support the Health & Safety Manager and wider Group H&S function in maintaining a safe, compliant and progressive working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about health and safety who is keen to develop their career — training will be provided.
As Health and safety advisor you will help ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, guidance and best practice while promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Promote H&S best practice and encourage continual improvement, including near‑miss reporting
- Support development and delivery of employee H&S training
- Assist Health & Safety committees and attend meetings
- Work with managers on risk assessments, ensuring timely completion in line with procedures
- Maintain H&S systems including accident reporting and COSHH compliance
- Support internal audits, identifying improvements to systems and procedures
- Collect, analyse and report H&S data, identifying trends and recommending actions
- Assist accident investigations under guidance of the H&S Manager
- Deliver Toolbox Talks and communicate safety information effectively
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, HR policies, and contractual obligations
- Positively represent the company to customers and suppliers
- Contribute fully to performance and development programmes
We’re looking for someone enthusiastic about health and safety who enjoys working collaboratively and driving continuous improvement.
Essential / Preferred- IOSH membership desirable
- NEBOSH qualification (or working towards it)
- Experience with in manufacturing, engineering, or chemicals environments beneficial
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to interpret H&S legislation and guidance
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Self‑motivated team player
- Full UK driving licence
