Hospitality Team Member

YHA London St Pauls – Permanent, flexible contract

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

Pay: £12.21 per hour, rising to £12.71 per hour from 1st March 2026 in line with National Living Wage, plus £1.20 per hour Local Living Allowance

Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week

Job Description

As a Hospitality Team Member, you'll play a key role in making our guests' experiences memorable. Your efforts will be at the core of our mission to provide exceptional hospitality.

Responsibilities
  • Providing great customer service to all customers, members and guests
  • Working on reception, offering insights about the hostel and the local area, ensuring every guest feels informed and welcomed
  • Using our systems for efficient guest check‑ins and check‑outs, food and beverage sales and service
  • Carrying out housekeeping duties, ensuring a comfortable, clean environment for all visitors
  • Assisting in the preparation of food and serving food and drinks with genuine warmth, hospitality and pride that will influence more sales
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of working face‑to‑face with customers
  • Experience working in a team, helping others achieve a common goal
  • Excellent time‑keeping, with flexibility to cover different shifts; punctual, able to work to deadlines
  • Ability to manage varying pressures, including peaks in workload demands; prioritise, deal with conflicting duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA and how we do it
  • Demonstration of YHA HEART values – bringing them to life in everyday work
