We are currently recruiting for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join a busy HR Operations team within a central government environment on a 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering payroll and HR operational support within a fast‑paced, structured setting.

You will support the delivery of payroll and HR administrative services across the employee lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting matrix management of a small team of HR Advisers
• Assisting with weekly and monthly payroll processing
• Maintaining and updating data within the HR Information System
• Monitoring HR case trackers to ensure actions remain on track
• Resolving transactional HR queries and managing escalated issues
• Ensuring GDPR compliance and protection of sensitive personal data
• Researching and recommending solutions to meet business needs

• Proven experience using MHR iTrent (mandatory)
• Strong Google Workspace and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience with in HR Operations and payroll environments
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
• Ability to work flexibly in a fast‑paced operational role
• Active SC clearance or eligibility
