Position: Senior Platform Engineer (Domain Operations)
Location: City of Westminster

Our platform engineering team is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer. You will collaborate with multiple development teams to accelerate value delivery to our customers and achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Work within Platform Engineering to ensure high availability and reliability of our platform.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new systems and services, meeting reliability and scalability standards.
  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code, ensuring reproducible, secure, and scalable environments.
  • Champion automated testing and test-driven development (TDD) practices across infrastructure and application code.
  • Implement and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure and application monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Utilize observability tools to gain insights into system performance and health, guiding improvement decisions.
  • Build and maintain testing infrastructure to support high confidence in releases and rapid iteration.
  • Design and implement automation tools and processes to boost efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to address critical incidents and guarantee system availability.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and practices in Platform Engineering and infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • Experience in building large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in Fin Tech, banking, or another closely related sector, with a strong understanding of financial systems and building within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture and application deployment models (AWS preferred).
  • Experience in operating web-scale deployments of containerized systems using Kubernetes and/or Amazon Container Services.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc.), and automated testing frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of programming languages and the systems you have worked on.
  • Enthusiasm for writing code, primarily using Python (prior experience beneficial, willingness to learn essential).
  • Advocate for quality-first development, familiar with TDD/BDD principles and automated testing strategies.
  • Passion for designing large systems with scalable and elegant interfaces.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving root causes, and collaborating with code owners to prevent recurrence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a commitment to upholding Ebury's values.
Nice to have
  • Experience in the Fin Tech industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, DORA) is a plus.
  • Experience with Dev Ops and test automation tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is advantageous.
