We re looking for an experienced IT Support / Mac Support Specialist to support the setup of a small, highly focused IT function within a regulated and complex environment.
This role centers around managing and supporting a fleet of Mac Books, ensuring they are configured, maintained, and optimised using modern tooling and infrastructure-as-code approaches.
The successful candidate will play a key part in establishing and delivering this capability, working both strategically and hands‑on. This is a delivery‑focused role requiring a proactive, self‑sufficient individual who can take ownership of outcomes and operate with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support a fleet of Mac Books across the organisation
- Configure and maintain Mac devices at a deep technical level (command line / system‑level)
- Implement and maintain device management using tools such as Jamf
- Apply infrastructure‑as‑code principles to device management and configuration
- Troubleshoot and resolve end‑user issues relating to Mac devices
- Work directly with users to diagnose and fix technical problems
- Deliver solutions independently based on high‑level requirements
- Proactively identify, implement, and improve technical solutions
- Operate in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision
- Contribute both strategically (designing solutions) and tactically (hands‑on execution)
- Strong hands‑on experience managing Mac Book environments (non‑negotiable)
- Deep technical understanding of macOS, including command line and system configuration
- Proven experience managing device fleets using Jamf
- Experience applying infrastructure‑as‑code principles to end‑user compute
- Experience working in IT support or end‑user support functions
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and work directly with users
- Highly proactive, self‑sufficient, and delivery‑focused mindset
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to propose and implement solutions
- Experience working across multiple organisations in similar roles (3‑5 years minimum)
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical issues to users
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g. NHS, Telecoms, Finance)
- Experience with in government or public sector environments
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Entra, Zscaler, Microsoft support tooling
- Experience delivering solutions across both small and large organisations
