Requirements
  • We require proven experience building effective working relationships and providing challenge where appropriate.
  • We require strong attention to detail and the ability to craft concise, informative user documentation.
  • We require experience researching and developing solutions that expand, modernise, or improve service and technology portfolios, automate IT operations, reduce costs, or increase service levels.
  • We require experience with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk ITSI implementations, with deep knowledge of Splunk capabilities and future direction.
  • We require administration experience with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk ITSI.
  • We require Splunk certification and in-depth knowledge of Splunk, from sophisticated design and use case development through to operational support.
  • We require demonstrable experience configuring Splunk ITSI using REST API.
  • We require previous automation experience with Splunk using Terraform and Git Hub.
  • We require an understanding of different monitoring technologies and how they can be used to deliver insights and business value.
  • We require demonstrable experience managing sophisticated Splunk platforms serving multiple business units and use cases, such as Security, IT Operations, and transaction monitoring.
  • We require experience integrating Splunk with data sources and other monitoring, automation, and ITSM tools.
  • We require strong data analysis skills and the ability to correlate data from multiple sources.
  • We require the ability to articulate sophisticated designs, code, and applications for large-scale projects into modular components.
  • We require demonstrable experience working across multiple work streams to deadlines while managing conflicting and changing demands.
  • We require strong judgement, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • We require the ability to balance and analyse information from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • We require familiarity with Agile ways of working.

Responsibilities
  • We will lead the design and implementation of monitoring and observability patterns and standards within our Observability Team.
  • We will act as a technical authority, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • We will take an automation-first approach.
  • We will mentor the team to build sustainable capability.
  • We will advocate monitoring and observability best practice across the wider technology domain.
  • We will design, develop, support, and ope rationalise advanced Splunk solutions.
  • We will configure Splunk ITSI using REST API.
  • We will automate Splunk processes using Terraform and Git Hub.
  • We will manage sophisticated Splunk platforms across multiple business units and use cases.
  • We will integrate Splunk with data sources and other monitoring, automation, and ITSM tools.
  • We will analyse and correlate data from multiple sources to produce insights and business value.
  • We will work across multiple work streams to deadlines while handling changing priorities.
  • We will communicate sophisticated designs and solutions clearly to a range of stakeholders, including senior management.
