Requirements

Strong hands‑on experience with VMware / Omnissa Horizon
Experience running VDI in enterprise environments
Good understanding of Horizon architecture, including connection servers, UAG, pools, and images
Good understanding of vSphere, including vCenter and ESXi
Good understanding of VDI performance and troubleshooting
Solid Windows Server experience, including AD, GPO, DNS, and identity integration
Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux VDI desktops
Strong troubleshooting skills across platform, OS, and user experience
Desirable: experience with App Volumes or application layering tools
Desirable: experience with Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) or equivalent
Desirable: experience with NSX or network segmentation in VDI environments
Desirable: experience in regulated or high-availability environments
SC Clearance is highly desirable

Responsibilities

Run our Horizon platform day to day, including pods, pools, brokers, and gateways
Manage our VDI infrastructure alongside platform teams covering vSphere, storage, and networking
Monitor performance and capacity, and troubleshoot issues end to end
Support incidents, problem management, and change activity
Manage desktop pools, images, and provisioning
Support application delivery and user profiles using tools such as App Volumes and DEM or equivalent
Troubleshoot Windows and Linux VDI session and performance issues
Support underlying Windows Server services such as AD, DNS, and authentication
Contribute to patching, upgrades, and continuous platform improvements

We are hiring an experienced, hands‑on VDI Platform Engineer to support a medium‑sized enterprise Omnissa (VMware) Horizon environment in a critical setting. This is a London hybrid role with 2 to 3 days per week in the office and is inside IR35. Our environment is fast‑moving and operationally important, and SC Clearance is highly desirable, though we will consider all applications.
