Associate Director – Senior Technology Pre‑Sales

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Pre‑Sales consultant to join our Life Solutions team in EMEA, supporting the growth of the Path Wise actuarial technology platform across the region. The successful candidate will play a key role in positioning, demonstrating, and shaping technology‑enabled Path Wise solutions for prospective and existing clients, with a focus on the technology platform, client IT integration and tooling transformation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong insurance IT background in enterprise IT, actuarial technology applications (including cloud or high‑performance computing), used for insurance actuarial modelling and regulatory topics (e.g. Solvency II, IFRS 17), combined with excellent client‑facing and pre‑sales experience. The candidate will work closely with sales, product and technology teams to understand client needs, design compelling technology‑driven solution proposals, and support the execution of strategic initiatives, with particular emphasis on EMEA insurance markets.

This role is to be based out of our London Head Office

What the day will look like
  • Serve as the technology subject matter expert in client pre‑sales engagements for Path Wise across EMEA.
  • Create the application architecture design, in conjunction with the client’s technology and security teams to assist in the development of the client value proposition and business case for Path Wise as the client’s actuarial technology platform.
  • Support sales in identifying and qualifying opportunities where Path Wise technology can deliver clear business value to insurers and reinsurers.
  • Lead discussions with clients to understand their technology strategy, objectives, existing platforms, architectures and constraints.
  • Contribute technology content to proposals, RFP responses, client presentations and commercial negotiations.
  • Complete regular client audit requirements for technology/security and regulatory compliance.
  • Present Path Wise capabilities, architecture and deployment approaches to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior executives (e.g. Chief Actuary, CFO, CRO, CIO/CTO).
  • Collaborate with internal product, technology, modelling and implementation teams to ensure proposed technology solutions are robust, feasible and aligned with the Path Wise roadmap.
  • Monitor market and technology developments in EMEA and translate them into relevant Path Wise positioning and sales messages.
  • Support thought leadership and market‑facing activities (e.g. conferences, webinars, client workshops) on actuarial platforms, cloud / high‑performance computing and IT topics.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Proven ability to engage and build credibility with senior stakeholders across IT/technology functions and business functions (e.g. actuarial, risk and finance).
  • Minimum eight years of relevant experience in technology platforms and their technology stack, with meaningful exposure to working in the financial services industry.
  • Understanding of technology platforms including cloud‑based solutions, high‑performance computing concepts (e.g. grid, GPU or distributed computing), APIs, process and workflow automation, data management and architecture, SLAs, disaster recovery, technology deployments and IT governance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex technical and technology concepts in a clear, outcome‑focused way.
  • Demonstrated experience working with or supporting sales / business development teams, including participation in pitches, RFPs or commercial discussions.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience with actuarial and projection platforms used in the life insurance market, and familiarity with typical actuarial modelling processes, controls and governance.
  • Exposure to actuarial platform or model transformation/migration initiatives, including definition of target architectures and operating models.
  • Multi‑language skills:
English (spoken and written) and German, Spanish or Italian.
