Responsibilities
  • Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist with automating build, test, deployment and release processes.
  • Help reduce manual tasks through scripting and reusable automation.
  • Support consistent deployment practices across development, test and production environments.
  • Assist with provisioning and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
  • Support the use of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
  • Help maintain secure and consistent environments across cloud platforms.
  • Support configuration of compute, storage, networking and platform services.
  • Help monitor digital services, infrastructure and applications.
  • Support incident investigation, root cause analysis and service recovery.
  • Assist with improving logging, alerting and observability.
  • Contribute to service availability, performance and resilience improvements.
  • Work with cyber security colleagues to apply secure‑by‑design principles.
  • Support vulnerability management, patching and configuration compliance.
  • Follow government security, data protection and information assurance requirements.

We are recruiting a Junior Dev Ops Engineer for an initial 3‑month contract with possible extensions. The role is based in London with flexible working and is inside IR35 on an umbrella‑only basis. You will join our multidisciplinary Digital, Data and Technology team supporting secure, reliable and scalable digital services across government. We work closely with developers, testers, product managers, service owners, cyber security teams and delivery teams to deliver user‑centred public services that are secure, resilient and compliant with government standards.
