Overview

Global bank based in Canary Wharf.

• Role - C# Developer - Desktop Applications
• Duration - 6 months with likely extension
• Rate - 416 p/d (inside IR35)
• Location - Hybrid / Canary Wharf
• Tech Stack - C#, WPF, Winforms, Java script, SQL, Oracle

• Understand business requirements, design application structures, perform business data analysis, and develop WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) applications in Visual C#.NET on Oracle and SQL Server databases. Participate in testing with users and support deployment through Development, Quality Assurance (QA), Production, and Disaster Recovery environments. Prepare operation documents including User Helps (manuals).
• Support existing Win Forms (C#.NET) programs and applications written in languages such as MS VBA for Excel/Access, MS VB, and MS Excel Macros.

• Define database objects required for systems and coordinate with SQL and Oracle Database Administrators in London and New York.
• Provide scripts for data analysis using T-SQL (SQL Server) and PL/SQL (Oracle) per business requirements.
• Set up system distribution to Citrix and application servers for Web and Windows applications.
• Troubleshoot system failures, review Windows OS, IIS, and related environments; liaise with other application support teams as needed.
• Follow existing team programming policy to maintain a consistent development style across the team.
• Update versions of MS .NET Framework and MS Visual .NET to support changes in production systems.
• Liaise with support teams (Development, Technical Support, Network & Infrastructure, DBA) to address business user system problems.
• Assess data processing load impact on SQL and Oracle databases and explore alternative approaches when required.
• Coordinate releases with the Release Manager and maintain change history of applications.
