What to expect

The Lead Security Architect is a key member of the CISO team, responsible for the delivery of functional strategies, always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset.

The Lead Security Architect will design and review system architectures, align with POL's technology principles, and collaborate across functional areas to develop a cohesive security strategy. Support transformation initiatives, establish design principles, and regularly update security measures to mitigate emerging threats and risks. Ensuring POL's Security Architecture capability is effective and minimises risks of compromise and disruption.

They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance across their teams, delivery and decision-making.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will be well versed in the below:

Qualifications
  • Degree in computer science, information systems, cyber security, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Cyber Security related certification such as GIAC, CISSP or cloud security certs desirable
Experience
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in IT, with a focus on cybersecurity
  • Technical leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to lead security initiatives and collaborate across teams
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices
  • Experience with modern digital architectures such as cloud, data, API, digital, and mobile
  • Knowledge of security domains including endpoint, network, data, hybrid cloud security, and zero trust strategies
  • Experience in leading threat modelling sessions.
Skills and Capabilities
  • An enabler who can speak with knowledge and confidence in their subject matter, guiding their team to success.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to utilise a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively, make an impact, and drive a successful outcome.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for functional plans and activity.
  • Acts as a expert advisor, applying advanced knowledge of their own specialism as well as broad knowledge of related areas.
  • Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data-driven business decisions.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding the values and principles of Post Office.
  • A track record of actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within all areas of responsibility and in particularly in the CISO function.
